Who are we?

James Glen Car Sales is a Partnership business set up by James Bogan and Glen Carson in 1982, hence the name ‘Jamesglen.

Is it still the same owners?

Yes and no – Glen left the business in 1985, leaving only James Bogan as owner. Rather than changing the business name, it was left. This seemed appropriate as business rarely change name for the right reasons.

Where do your cars come from?

80% of our cars are sourced from a Main BMW dealership that James has worked closely with for over 20years. The remainder, Part-Exchange vehicles we have generated ourselves.  

I have seen a car I like, but cant visit for a few days – Can I reserve it?

Yes, telephone deposits are taken often, securing the car until you can manage in to see us. If our description differs in anyway from the actual car in question, not only will your deposit be refunded, but also any reasonable travel expenses incurred.

Do you take cars in Part-Exchange?

Yes, all the time. Most enquiries start with a Part-Exchange valuation. Please click the Part Exchange Your Vehicle Button, fill in the details and we’ll start putting a deal together for you. Remember, giving us an idea of what you hope achieve helps save everyone alot of time. You never know, we might just say yes.

Are your cars ready to drive away?

In a perfect world, we would love to say yes, but in practice we feel more comfortable putting cars out freshly after being though the workshop. It is not unusual for cars to be sat for as long as 5-6weeks, during which time issues may arise such as sticky brakes or week batteries. 

Can your cars be ready to drive away?

Yes. If a deal is agreed by telephone or email and a deposit made, we will have your new car ready to drive away on a mutually agreed collection date.

What will I get with my new car?

• HPi Report (available upon request).
• 59 Point Inspection with condition report
• Service if required (within 3000miles)
• Cam Belt (if required within 3000miles)
• 1 Month unlimited mileage warranty (Extended Warranties from 195.00 / 6 Months Cover)
• Minimum of 6 months MOT

I have a private registration number; can you transfer it for me?

Yes, the cost of a registration transfer is £130.00 which includes DVLA charges, Administration, two new sets of registration plates and fitting. The whole process will take a maximum of 10 working days, although can in some cases happen quicker.
